Thoughts and Dreams of a Labruskie

All About An Indi Dog

I'm a Husky/Retriever Cross with a quizical expression.(Does that make me a Labruskie or a Husktriever) I came to live with my owners from Manchester on 24 November 2008. My family is two humans B & P, assorted wildlife, extended family humans and lots and lots of fish!!

Welcome to My World

Welcome to my New Site - I hope you like it! Keep up to date with all my adventures or check out my rated walkies suggestions If you would like to leave me a message please remember it doesn't appear right away as I have to do something called moderating - it is a bit like chewing - to make sure nothing in your comments will be worrying to a little pup!

My Cousin is a CAT!!!

I know I could scarcely believe it myself but it is true and what's more I met him on Saturday! That's him in the photo above with Uncle Keith

I suspected there was something funny going on as I was made to keep my lead on at Uncle Keith's but I was still shocked when B appeared in the doorway with a very fluffy and gingery pussycat in her arms. I did polite laying still and snuffing while Ira (that's his name) looked down at me from his place. He is a bit of a scaredy cat really but I said Hello nicely and he said HIISSSSSSS! then snuggled in to B's arms - 'which everyone knows is where I belong! I had to climb up on her knee, after Ira had gone back in his room, for snuggles just to let her know she has ME! and although I don't mind her occasionally stroking other animals she belongs to ME!'

B says I will be meeting him again as he lives with Uncle Keith now so we have to get used to each other! I am not sure about this but I did notice a little bowl of tasty snacks on the floor in the kitchen - note to self must get some alone time in Uncle Keith's kitchen next visit mmmmm!

I lost my favourite ball while on our camping trip so I made up a poem on the way home - hope you like it - rhymes are hard for puppy minds to think of!

My Yellow Ball and I!

One day I went a shopping

And picked you from the pile

This one please mummy

A waggy tail and smile

I took you home and showed you

Toy balls of every hue

But you were the only yellow one

And I stuck with you like glue

You came with me out walking

And didn’t mind at all

When I dropped you in a puddle

My Muddy Yellow Ball

You came with me out swimming

And didn’t mind at all

When I dunked you in the river

My Soggy Yellow Ball

You stayed with me at bedtime

And didn’t mind at all

When I chewed you ever so slightly

My Lumpy Yellow Ball

It often was suggested

As days and weeks went by

That yellow ball was past it

And a new ball we should buy

But I loved you Yellow Ball

And kept you by my side

And never put you in the bin

No matter how they tried

One day we went the seaside

And played upon the sand

And looked in all the rock pools

But I kept you close at hand

But then oh Yellow Ball forgive me

For fate was cruel not kind

When I dropped you in the ocean

My Yellow Ball, I couldn’t find!

A wave had come and stole you

Away from my searching nose

And swept you from my watching gaze

To where? Well heaven knows!

I stood there looking hopeful

Until I was called away

My Yellow Ball is lost now

Although I looked for half the day

So please can we go shopping

I have a gap to fill

Would really like a new ball

I’ll look after it, promise I really will!

Camping Puppydog Style

I have a new fav hobby!

When P&B packed up the mini on Friday I was really not sure what to think - especially as there was so much stuff my head was almost on the roof of the car - did mean I could snuff out of the sun roof!

After what seemed an age of bumping along we arrived in a field and I was tied to a post! (which was worrying cos I was have heard about doggies being tied to a post in a field!) and then P&B started to unpack the car. I did offer to help but they said no it is fine - so I had a lay down, chewed a ball I found in the hedge and watched.

Imagine my surprise when after a few minutes a little house began to appear - this is apparently called a Tent!

Once the 'Tent' was up P said would I like a little walkie - imagine my surprise when we walked across the field and there we were on Lligwy Beach - which is like one of my absolute favourite places!

When we got back to the tent Nana and Dubs had arrived and were setting up their tent next to ours!

I think you need to tighten that guy rope

Have had such a great couple of days - paddling and swimming in the sea, walking on the headlands, supervising the camp site from our little corner of it, sleeping, chasing bunny rabbits at 3am - it was just sooooo much fun - and once I have caught up with my sleep I only have one question - WHEN CAN WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I have one please?

Please can I have a chicken sandwich Nana?

BBQ In the Rain?

The Crazy things Humans do - can I have a burger please!
