Becoming Indi Hughes
Well, I guess I should start at the beginning.
I was born in Staley Bridge, Manchester sometime at the end of the summer 2008. So at the time of writing I'm about 12 weeks old. A very bouncey 12 weeks that is!
My Mum is a Siberian Husky and Dad is a big soft Golden Retriever (don't tell him I said that). I'm one of a litter of six. Poor Mum must have been exhausted!
Beth & Phil came and got me on 24th November and I instantly took a liking to these kind owners. This being despite the fact they took me to the vets the very next day for my 1st Jabs and 'chipping' so I'm told. It was a very big needle and I did wince, but the lovely vet told me how good I was being. But I digress, the journey back to my new home in Wigan was very exciting for such a little dog as I. I didn't like the lorries wizzing past at head height but I snuggled up to Beth and she kept me warm and safe.
When I got to my new home I met my new best friend, Ellie T Dog and she soon showed me the ropes. Beth & Phil weren't expecting to come home with a little bundle of fur all bouncey and full of beans. I ran around the house taking in all the new scents and sights. My first night was spent in a snuggly pile of towels as I didn't have my own bed and I thought it best not to ask an 'old' lady like Ellie to give hers up for me.
I needn't have worried for too long as the very next day I was taken on a shopping expedition to Pets @ Home where I met some very nice people. The nice lady gave me lots of free sample puppy biscuits and spoilt me rotten. Poor Phil who carried me was exhausted! We left the shop with a bed, a shiney new collar and lead, a big bag of dinner, and my very own bowls and of course not forgetting 'Raggy Sheep'. I also got my special house which keeps me safe when Beth & Phil have boring jobs to do. I'm currently learning to sleep in it all by myself (and a few toys of course) I'm sharing nicely with Raggy Sheep currently.
On the trip to the vets later the same day (25th Nov) I met several interesting characters which included a sickly Rabbit that was nearly as big as I am! The vet gave me a clean bill of health and said how good I was (I'm such a good puppy aren't I?).
So far its going well, I do like to howl a bit at night when left alone but I'm learning.
